Virtual Thanksgiving Kids in the Kitchen Class

 




Celebrate Thanksgiving a little early with our virtual Kids in the Kitchen class! Your child/children will have the opportunity to make two thanksgiving-themed recipes, led by Registered Dietitian Nina Struss RD, LDN in a real-time virtual class!

Suggested ages for this class include 2 years and up, but any age is welcome to join!
For this class we will make Apple Pie Bites and Pumpkin Pie in a Bag!

If you plan to use your own ingredients you will need the following:
• ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon apple pie spice, and additional apple pie spice (about ¼ teaspoon) for sprinkling on top of crescent rolls
• 3 tablespoons butter, melted
• ⅓ cup chopped pecans
• 1 small Granny Smith apple, cored and sliced into 8 (1/2-inch) slices
• 1 (8-ounce) can Pillsbury Original crescent rolls
• 2 tablespoons skim milk
• 2 tablespoons canned pumpkin
• 1 dash cinnamon
• 1 dash ginger
• 1 tablespoon vanilla pudding mix
• 2 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
• Small cup
*The ingredient amounts listed above are for one serving. You will need to double or triple depending on how many children you have participating.
For this class you will need the following cooking kitchen appliances and utensils:
• Oven
• Spoon
• Baking sheet
• Butter knife
• Cutting board
• Small Ziplock bag
Make sure to have all ingredients ready before the start of class. Nina will lead all class participants through the entire recipe (including measuring out all the ingredients).
This class is free, but requires pre-registration to attend. This class will be recorded, so if you cannot make the class on the specific date/time you can view the class at a later time more convenient to your family.
